DESIGN AND PROTOTYPING SERVICE
All of our products have been designed, prototyped and developed in-house.To enable us to do this we have invested heavily in state-of-the-art design, testing and document control systems and it was a natural development to offer this service to our customers for the creation of specialized devices and machines. This diversification of our business has now become a major part of our company's activities and we are proud to number among our client base some of the country's biggest and most prestigious construction companies. Nearly all of this work is carried out under strict confidentiality agreements ensuring that the our customers' intellectual property and design rights are protected. As a result of this we now also manufacture a number of products on behalf of other companies. Key Benefits
CapabilitiesThomson Rail Equipment Ltd has invested heavily in state-of-the-art software for the design, detailing and analysis of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. This allows us to produce electronic models of the individual components, combine these into assemblies to test how the design will work and analyze their behavior under stress, thermal loads and fatigue conditions. The simulations produced allow our engineers to assess the overall design and to give accurate predictions about the behaviour of the final product. Once this is done we can rapidly produce fully detailed engineering drawings of the entire design ready for prototype production. Exploded views and photo-realistic renditions of the device allow technical and marketing literature to be produced long before the first prototype begins to take shape. Reference AccountsThree of our recent commissions are illustrated on other pages. Please follow the links below for further details: A major pharmaceutical group required a new fire escape for their key UK production facility - but with a twist - not only did the structure have to be installed in under six hours but it also had to incorporate a lifting beam and removable top deck to allow for production plant to be lifted onto the roof of the building as well. During the construction of the Underground Link to Heathrow Terminal 5 the requirement arose for a special rail trailer capable of lifting, carrying and de-coiling 2.5 tonne cable drums.
Thomson Rail Equipment was commissioned by CTRL to produce two complete turnkey systems for use as auxiliary power units for the maintenance of the new Channel Tunnel Rail Link.
