Under Development We are constantly developing new products and each year brings new additions to our catalogue. This page details some of the machinery and attachments currently under development. FE Clipping Machine
The all new FE clipping machine is a heavy duty alternative to the popular FD machine. It is designed to set and release Pandrol FASTCLIP fastenings and to lift the sleepers where necessary to ensure that the clips are securely driven home. This machine, however, incorporates some new features which make it uniquely operator friendly including:
Not surprisingly this machine is generating a lot of interest and we are currently in discussions with a major tool hire group with a view to replacing their fleet of Pandrol Mk iv machines. The prototype machine is currently under test and will be available for sale by late March 2008. On-Tracking System In association with one of the largest hire fleets in the UK we are currently developing a unique off tracking system and a cross tracking system, both of which will be announced shortly Sub-Sleeper Ballast Plough A unique machine for removing the ballast from underneath sleepers allowing their swift removal during wet-bed works. The prototype is currently under construction. Sonneville Block Grab Developed for the East London Line Regeneration Project where slab track is being laid using Sonneville Blocks and Vossloh Fastenings, this grab handles, spreads and places the blocks accurately and speedily. The first unit will be in service by mid March and is designed to withstand the punishing continuous operation needed to keep this vital project on schedule. The major factors in the client's decision to award us this order was our reputation for solid, reliable engineering and our commitment to 24 hour parts and technical support which they have always appreciated with other equipment purchased from Thomson Rail. Network Rail Type 1 RMMM - the modular inspection trolley Development is now complete and the product trials are at an advanced stage. We are currently setting up the production tooling for the first batch of fifty machines due to be delivered over the next few months. This unique modular design has been developed to Network Rail's exacting specification and has been very well received by all who have tried it. Despite having a 750kg payload the machine can be put on track or removed by just two men in under three minutes and incorporates high level lights, infinitely variable transmission forward and reverse travel, modular construction, reversible seating and the ability to propel a powered sister vehicle to double the potential payload. The modular construction allows the machine to be configured to suit each individual task with, for example, 1 to 6 seats, carry box, flood lighting, weather proof canopy, hydraulic power tools, etc. It will shortly be available with petrol, diesel, electric and LPG power. A unique, patented wheel construction gives never-before-seen levels of traction and braking for complete safety in all conditions and the unique drive system prevents runaway on even the steepest rail gradients.
